9th Annual Chamber Cares Holiday Drive

This year's Chamber Cares Holiday Drive will benefit The Uplift Shelter.

The Uplift Overnight Shelter is a 62-bed facility in Farmington located behind the former Mineral Area Hospital Building. The facility provides temporary shelter for individuals in St. Francois County who are experiencing homelessness. Some stay overnight while others only utilize daytime services.  They provide access to showers, laundry machines, and meals, with separate spaces designated for men, women, and families. 

The Uplift Shelter also provides wrap-around case management services to assess the individual's strengths and needs.  After the assessment, they work with each client to develop an individualized plan and then work with those clients to achieve their goals to become self-sufficient. They also assist with connecting clients to other community resources in turn, helping them to build support systems. 

The Uplift Shelter is still new to our community, however, it has already been extremely successful in helping numerous individuals experiencing homelessness find permanent housing!

Needs:

• Disposable Plates
• Disposable Bowls
• Disposable Cups
• Disposable Forks, Spoons, & Knives
• Paper Napkins
• Paper Towels
• Toilet Paper

Drop off donations to the Chamber Office or any participating Collection Site beginning November 1, 2022, through December 12, 2022.
