**CANCELED** 17th Annual Firecracker Run

It is with a heavy heart we announce that the 2020 Firecracker Run is canceled. Due to the current Social Distancing Guidelines and concerns associated with the COVID-19 virus, the Board of Directors has voted to cancel this event for 2020. 
 
Please know, this decision was not made unmindfully. The event committee and board of directors have met several times to discuss various alternatives and evaluate possible decisions about having the event or canceling the event. The safety of our participants must be our top priority and any chance of jeopardizing that safety, even minutely, by continuing the event this year simply isn?t worth it to us. Rest assured, we have every intention of continuing this event, with hopes of making it even bigger, in 2021. 

Again, we are truly saddened by the need to cancel this year's Firecracker Run, however, we hope that you will support our efforts to ensure everyone's safety and plan to see us again at the 2021 Firecracker Run!

RUNNERS - 1-MILE & 5K
  • Age Groups: 10 & Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50 & Up. 
  • Awards: Best Overall Male & Female and Top Three Male/Female Per Category In 1-Mile & 5K 
  • Official Timing: 1-Mile & 5K Runs timed by the Cape Road Runners.
  • Race Start Times: The 1-Mile Run Begins at 8:00 a.m.  The 5K Run Begins at 8:30 a.m.

WALKERS - 1-MILE & 5K
  • Age Groups:  All Ages Welcome
  • Awards:  All Walkers to Receive Participation Ribbons
  • Timing: WALKERS will NOT be timed.
  • Walk Start Time: Both Walks Begin at Approximately 8:05 a.m.

  THE COURSES
  • All Events: Begin and end at Central High School. Miles will be marked. The Business Challenge will follow the 5K course.
  • Course Maps: Available at the Chamber Office or by clicking here: 1-MILE COURSE MAP or 5K COURSE MAP
PRICING & OTHER DETAILS
  • Early Registration Pricing: Participants registering before June 10th will be entered in a Drawing for a Special Prize! Registration fees if paid by June 24th are as follows:
    • Individuals: $20.00
    • Families: $35.00 Per Family. No more than 5 family members per registration.
  • Regular Registration Fees: Registration fee if paid after June 24th are as follows:
    • $25.00 Per Each Runner/Walker
    • No Family Rates after June 26. Everyone registers as an individual.
  • Family Discounts: Families (up to 5 members) $35.00 Per Family.  No Family Pricing after June 24th.
  • Day Of Registration & Check In: Begins at 7:00 a.m. on race day.
  • T-Shirts:  Commemorative shirt to the First 150 Entries.  Sizes based on availability.

**COMING BACK IN 2020**
  • New Age Groups: 10 & Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50 & Up. 
  • Early Bird Registration Giveaway: Register before June 10 and be entered to win a Gift Basket compliments of Parkland Health Mart Pharmacy, Jerry's Fireworks, & The Chamber of Commerce!
  • $500 Fireworks Package Giveaway: One lucky participant will receive a Fireworks Package valued at $500 courtesy of Jerry's Fireworks.  Must be present to win! Winners under the age of 18 must have a qualified adult present to collect the prize.

A portion of your registration fee goes to the Park Hills - Leadington Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund.  Providing four graduating, Central High School Students, who will be attending one of our local colleges - Mineral Area College, Central Methodist University, or Missouri Baptist University - with a $500 scholarship to assist with tuition, books, and/or other college necessities.

Registration fee if paid by June 24th:
Individual: $20.00
Family: $35.00
Business 5K Challenge Team: $40.00

Registration fee paid after June 24th:
$25.00 for each runner/walker
$45 for each Business Team
Family discounts not available after June 24th
