Offenders Assisting Society by Inventing Solutions is the Restorative Justice Organization (RJO) at the Farmington Correctional Center (FCC). Restorative Justice (RJ) is a voluntary program wherein offenders recognize their past choices or actions which have hurt, damaged, or harmed society. In this program, they actively engage in activities to give back to the community in efforts to restore, in part, justice for what they have done.
OASIS is a massive RJ program; offender ran; all items are grown, or made by offenders. RJ at FCC has over 300 offenders giving back. This past year offenders donated over 2600 items, 48,400 hours of service, and 8,496 pounds of produce to area service agencies, schools, food pantries, and kitchens, plus thousands of dollars in cash donations.
Some of the items made in the Restorative Justice Program include quilts, Afghans, hat and scarf sets, paintings, rag rugs, fidget blankets, fidget animals, weighted blankets, weighted scarves, and weighted animals.
