Lifeguards play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of individuals at the City’s swimming pool. Their primary responsibilities include overseeing activities, enforcing safety rules, recognizing signs of danger, responding to emergencies, and maintaining cleanliness.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising activities at The REEF at Columbia Park.
  • Assisting with swimming lessons.
  • Explaining and enforcing safety rules and regulations.
  • Monitoring designated areas for potential dangers.
  • Warning swimmers about unsafe situations.
  • Responding to emergencies and performing rescues.
  • Administering first aid when necessary.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the facility.
  • Keeping records and reports.

Requirements:

  • Minimum age of 16 years old.
  • Completion of lifeguard training.
  • At least 1 month of related experience.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • AED certification is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with people of various backgrounds and ages.
  • Availability to work shifts.
  • Physical fitness, agility, and dexterity.

This is a seasonal position with a base pay of $15.00 per hour.
