Residents with questions about absentee voting for the April Election are encouraged to review the following information from St. Francois County Election Central.
How do I request a ballot?
Voters may contact the St. Francois County Clerk's Office to request an absentee ballot application. Once the application is completed and approved, a ballot will be mailed to the voter.
Absentee voting in person at the Election Central is also available beginning Tuesday, February 24, and continues through Election Day. Voters may come in with a valid ID and their qualifying excuse to cast an absentee ballot early.
All ballots, whether cast absentee or on Election Day, are counted in the same manner on Election Night.
Do I need my ballot notarized?
Some absentee ballots require notarization, while others do not. Certain medical or caregiving situations may qualify for exemption from notarization requirements. Voters are encouraged to contact the St. Francois County Clerk's office for guidance specific to their situation.
What is the deadline?
Applications must be received by the deadline prior to the election. For the April Election, the last day to request an absentee ballot is March 25.
